The cathedral and the Residenz palace form the historic city centre of Salzburg. For 200 years the passages between the archiepiscopal palace, the cathedral oratories, the cabinet of curiosities and the art galleries were closed or walled up. Then, with the establishment of the DomQuartier, the original unity of the cathedral and Residenz complex, including the Benedictine monastery of St. Peter, was renewed. A tour offers new views of the city as well as hidden insights into architectural monuments and baroque treasures.
