In 1492, the "House Bey der Stiegen", was for the first time mentioned as a brewery in documents. In 1650 the Stiegl brewery was the largest of the twelve breweries in Salzburg, and today it is the largest privately owned brewery in Austria with the motto "quality over quantity".Brewery world
