Besides the church of St. Sebastian there is another church in Ramsau, the pilgrimage church Maria Kunterweg ("Kunterwegkirche", "Maria Kunterweg", "Maria Himmelfahrt am Kunterweg"), which is standing by a forest above the valley.
The church can be reached on foot from Ramsau: There is a steep ascending way, which is around 700 m long. The name "Kunterweg" origins from the Middle High German word kunter (also: gunter), which means 'animal, small farm animal' - like that the name "Kunterweg" still reminds about the original significance as a cattle route for sheep and goats.
The construction of the church was completed in 1733; today it is regarded as one of the most original works of Bavarian rococo.
